Sourced from an Acoustica message board posting. Hi all, just wonder if you know there is any good tool I could try to do this. Now, you can choose either of left or right stereo to remove vocals. Do this by clicking the downward arrow at the left sidebar and choose Split Stereo Track option. You may want to just try looking around the 'net for an "instrumental" version of the song (if it is available). Firstly, if you are on the same screen as the screenshot shows, you need to Split Stereo Track into left and right stereo. Give this a try to see how it works for you. Select "Overlap (Mix)", volume of 100, and check the "Invert" checkbox. Move the mouse cursor near the bottom of the WAV graphic until the mouse pointer gets an 'R' next to it, and select the entire right channel the way you did the left. Switch to the new WAV file, and select "paste". You should now have the entire left channel selected. Then move the cursor back to the middle, right click, and drag all the way to the right edge. Pick a spot near the middle of the screen, left click, and drag all the way to the left edge. Download your results in MP3 format for free. If you move the mouse to the top of the WAV display area, the mouse cursor gets a little 'L' next to it. We will remove the instrumentals from your song and generate the vocal audio file for you to download. Select the entire left channel in the original WAV file. Switch back to the original WAV/MP3 file (with the "Window" menu).

Set the settings at 44.1KHz 16-bit *mono*. Vocal Remover Pro is a software used to eliminiate vocals from music, Vocal Remover Pro is capable of removing and eliminating singings from MP3 files, generating an instrumental track with only the background music. Here's how its done with CoolEdit:Ĭreate a new window with no WAV file in it (File->New.). This process is also known as the "OOPS effect" as it cancels frequencies. Its not very good for most songs.but it does work for some.
We use two totally different methods to remove the voice. You start with a stereo file and end up with a mono file with the center frequency cancelled. Far beyond every one elses simple L-R simple center channel elimination scheme the VE4 uses advanced and proprietary Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms to remove more vocal with less loss of background instruments. Unfortunately, there are usually other artifacts such as reverb and effects which are usually panned to one side. (Balanced between the left and right speakers). The trick is to rely on the fact that vocals are usually positioned in the "center" of the stereo field. You will need an external sound mp3 editor such as CoolEdit. This is definitely a difficult task, but there may be some hope! :)
